In this research, I explore the integration of AI uncertainty within a studio-based design practice, building upon emerging methodologies that treat uncertainty as a generative material rather than a flaw. Extending previous work that engaged AI misclassification creatively, this project shifts focus toward developing a personal, reflective practice where the probabilistic nature of AI systems becomes embedded in the design process. Through iterative making, I experiment with how AI’s ambiguous outputs, such as low-confidence object recognition results, can shape product development and material outcomes. This exploration emphasises on the role of designerly intuition in navigating and amplifying AI uncertainty, resulting in physical artifacts that reimagine familiar objects in unexpected ways. This research extends into designing a product by 'breaking open' an archetype through an AI-driven design process. The contributions of this research are: (1) insights into how AI uncertainty can be meaningfully embedded in studio-based product design, (2) reflections on interaction aesthetics and material choices that complement uncertain outputs, and (3) methodological considerations for evolving studio approaches to accommodate emerging AI technologies.
