Tune in is a design project aimed at deepening the connection between humans and music through an explorative, multimodal experience. Central to the system is the idea of active exploration, encouraging users to discover new dimensions of music by interacting with its layers. The system consists of three interconnected products in a home environment: a round Interaction Table with an actuator that lets users isolate or blend musical instruments; a visualization that translates sound into dynamic shapes and colors, mirroring the auditory experience; and a music installation that uses effects like EQ and reverb to accentuate chosen instruments. Designed for music enthusiasts, the system transforms passive listening into an interactive journey, making the nuances of music tangible and visually expressive. The design also shares data with complementary projects, aligning playlists with users’ preferences. This approach reimagines the way people engage with and understand the music they love.
