In this research, my team explored how AI uncertainty can be a creative tool in redesigning kitchenware using image generation and object detection. Rather than seeing AI’s unpredictability as a flaw, we embraced it to discover new design perspectives. Generative AI inspired unexpected shapes, while object detection challenged us to reinterpret results, leading to slower but more imaginative processes. Our studio approach examined how different AI types, materials, and time constraints influence design outcomes, balancing the creative potential of AI uncertainty with its inherent instability.
